CNN —Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers is expected to participate in the New York Jets’ offseason training activities (OTAs) later this month without “any restrictions,” his franchise’s coach Robert Saleh said on Friday, per the NFL website. But the Jets ultimately missed the postseason and the timeline for his rehabilitation shifted and now Rodgers seems to be on track for beginning the 2024 NFL season fully fit, with a full offseason of training under his belt. The 40-year-old will fully participate in phase three of the OTAs, Saleh said, in which teams can conduct 10 days of 11-on-11 drills without any contact during a four week period. “I know he’s had a couple prior engagements that he’s taking care of, but he’s here, he’s working,” Saleh said. Boyle in turn was cut after he failed to turn things around and the Jets returned to Wilson.

BOSTON (AP) — Bill O’Brien will be the new head coach at Boston College, opting to return to his hometown for a top job instead of taking the offensive coordinator position at Ohio State he accepted just last month, a person with direct knowledge of the move told The Associated Press on Friday. The Boston native, who was the New England Patriots offensive coordinator last season, replaces Jeff Hafley, who left Chestnut Hill to be defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers. In past years, the Super Bowl presidential interviews often drove news coverage for days. But the Biden White House has always been skeptical of the value of doing so, in part due to anxiety that a flub could become an unwanted distraction. It will be easy to watch the Super Bowl, but many NFL games are out of fans' reach. But for many NFL fans, particularly those who live in a different state than the team they root for, watching football is rarely so easy. YouTube TV also provided access to a few Sunday afternoon Packers games on Fox. But several Packers games fell outside the NFL's regional coverage map , often leaving me with no choice but to watch Daniel Jones and the New York Giants. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Last weekend's four NFL divisional round playoff games averaged 40.0 million viewers on television and digital platforms, the highest on record dating back to 1988. Sunday night's game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills on CBS averaged a divisional round record 50.39 million viewers, according to Nielsen. It peaked at 49.1 million viewers as the Bucs mounted a final drive late in the fourth quarter. The Houston Texans-Baltimore Ravens game, which kicked off the weekend Saturday afternoon, drew 31.77 million on ESPN, ABC, ESPN+, making it the most-watched ESPN game since it started doing games in 1987. The audience for the Ravens' 34-10 victory peaked at 36.2 million during the third quarter.
